We help clients
to define and document their business flows. Business
Process Engineering (or BPE) is a step that usually
precedes the implementation of enterprise software.
In many cases, companies find it easier to change the
way they work to suit the capabilities of enterprise
software they buy. Yet others, do not change - they
customize the IT products they buy to support their
processes.
Either way, a well-documented business flow is critical to the success of the project - the As-Is process and the To-Be process and the documentation of the impact of change.
We do this well. We understand several leading software
products as well as business flows of engineering, production,
materials control, marketing, sales, finance, and human
resources among others. Sometimes such cycles are called
customer-to-cash (from a sales order to getting paid)
or order-to-pay (placing an order, receiving the goods
or services and then paying). Whatever the name, we
do a good job.

We will come in and map all of your processes. You will have a repository of all your company's
processes. A new employee can get a holistic picture
of how the organization works by training on this repository.
We often work with the Professional Services teams
of product vendors who have been selected to run a conference
room pilot. For those who are not familiar with this
term, this is a pilot simulated (in a "conference room")
on a select number of processes with some sample data
with teams assembled from various departments (end users
and IT folks). Once the conference room pilot is signed
off, the system is usually put into full-scale production.
Before this, the end users who will use the system are
usually trained. We assist in the definition of these
flows, then document them and follow up with training
end users on the adopted processes.
We also help in other situations. Take two companies
that have merged, for instance. They could very well have two sets
of dissimilar processes that need to be aligned. We
not only help in the documentation of the systems but
also help in change management. |
